Bar & grill
Locals come to this cozy neighborhood spot for burgers & beer, plus sports watching & jukebox tunes.
Came here for am early dinner before we went to watch the White Sox play. It was great weather so we sat outside and enjoyed it. Parking was a bit of a challenge since it was game day, but the bar gave us a parking pass while we were dining. The service was quick and friendly and menu choice was good. Here is what we had: Buffalo chicken egg rolls:. One of the newer items on their menu and specialties. It was weird to think of it but the taste was awesome. It was 4 egg rolls cut down the middle, stuffed with buffalo chicken and ranch or blue cheese as the dipping sauce. It was actually really good. Nice and crispy on the outside and soft and tender inside. BBQ wings: meaty and juicy, these wings were nice and tangy with the perfect amount of bbq sauce on them. Chicken tenders: the tenders were not overly breaded and the dreading was really good. Not just a thick slosh of flour, with a nice seasoning to it. The chicken was nice a soft. calamari:. These were fine not anything to brag over but we’ll cooked and a good portion. Overall I would come back for a bite. I wish they served dessert, then I would make it a solid go to place. I recommend this to those just looking for a quick good bite.
I wish there was a Zero Star selection… It’s very understandable when an establishment is busy and the bartenders cannot cater to the crowd due to just having one server + what I believe was the owner. After waiting about 25min to get a drink at the bar and continuously being skipped, my friends and I ask for 2 Modelos and a corona, only to be told by the blonde female bartender, “we don’t serve that Mexican shit here!” And then refused to serve us anything after that and claimed it was passed the last call cut off .. After being disrespected in that manner we politely left. Can’t say how disappointing this was as one of our finest also lives in the neighborhood and this was my first visit. Can’t say how much I encourage you to not support this establishment. Such a disappointment, unfortunately looks like they cater to a certain crowd only. I will make sure I do not recommend this place to out of town visitors as I receive them at work every day. Everyone should always be welcoming!
Turtles has all the charm of a local dive bar, but they happen to have great fries! I always go for a vodka and lemonade, individual cheese pizza, and parmesan fries – perfect meal for under $20!
Good selection of beers. Can’t beat the $5 burger deal in Mondays! Good local hangout.
Love this place! Stopped by before a Sox game to grab a few drinks and food, and I immediately felt welcomed and like I was home. You can definitely tell that there are regulars here, but I felt like a regular during my first visit. As someone that lives on the north side, this is definitely a sports bar that I would travel to outside of baseball season just to get a Chicago experience at a good bar that’s not overpriced. I’ll definitely be back!
Still open for takeout during Covid, and the Italian burger with garlic parm fries is worth it! John and crew here are essential Bridgeport.
A neighborhood gem. Good old school Italian local bar. Decent food and decent beer selection. I love the outdoor seating in the summers. I learned about it too late because I don’t usually walk around there but I’m glad I did!
“Sometimes you want to go, where everybody knows your name ” unfortunately I walked into turtles and nobody knew my name but I’m glad I stayed. You can tell this place has regulars. My friends and I needed a place to hangout after our Sox game was rained out. Turtles was close by and we decided to venture in. Our motley crew crowded into the small bar and waited to feel like we didn’t belong. We felt that way for all of one minute. Really liked this place. Waitress, only one working but boy did she move, was attentive without being too intrusive. Bartenders poured drinks and kept the beer cold. We had a great time. Go for the burgers. I repeAt. The burgers. These things are HUGE!!!! Took me two days to eat it for real. The fries were hand cut and so good. And the whole thing was five bucks. I would get rained out again just for a repeat of the night. Great place. Beware of parking. Lots of restrictions on game days.
This is a solid bar just north of Guaranteed Rate Field. I stopped by here a few weeks ago and it’s a standard neighborhood bar with a good amount of craft beer selections and a good food menu. I had the Italian burger, which was really good. The bar is small but a must for all those who are out in Bridgeport to stop by and have a beer or two. Great location to pregame before a Sox game too.
Found his hidden spot while searching for lunch. My team sat outside and the waitress (K, Kathy) was extremely helpful. The Parm fries were just okay.
