Luigi’s Pizza

I was so excited to try their pizza, and it would have been my new favorite pizza in Chicago…if the bottom had not been completely burnt which fully ruined the flavor as the whole thing tasted burnt. It’s the perfect NYC style thin pizza (finally!), with perfectly melted cheese/toppings and sauce. Interestingly the consistency/texture was great – it wasn’t crispy burned. Just the whole bottom was black and completely ruined the flavor. In looking at other reviews this seems to be a thing? Perhaps that oven needs to be checked/cleaned up? I’d love to give this another go but don’t want another ruined pizza 🙁

Burnt pizza Chick at the front desk that answers the phones had a total attitude and no apology given even though we were nice about it. This is a $30 pizza mind you and we are regulars. You’ve lost our business.

The best NY pizza and garlic knots in Chicago (from a NYer). I usually order in, so I can’t speak on that. I have been ordering in for a few years now and it’s my go to when I’m craving a taste of home! I don’t know if any other spot even has garlic knots!

I’m surprised at the high ratings, maybe it’s better fresh and not for dinner. I just ordered a cheesy pizza and didn’t care for it, won’t be going back.

came here on a saturday night (2/8) because i wanted pizza and they were still open. the sign on their door says they close at 11:00 pm. it is currently 10:51pm. i called before coming to make sure they were open and still had pizza and i get there and the door is locked. don’t advertise your closing time as 11:00pm if you’re not going to open the door past 10:45. trash service.

Has the best pizza that I’ve ever eaten and their salads are fresh and crisp so far you are the best that I have had since I’ve lived here thank you for all that you do.

I typically get great New York style pizza from CL but tonight that did not happen. As you can see the pizza was just inedible and I called to request a replacement Bcs who sends a pizza like that so they send out another but demand I pay a second time!?! So 60 dollars for one pizza? It’s ridiculous and totally inappropriate (especially for a customer who orders from them a lot). Never again.

At last I’ve found delicious New York style pizza. Went and got two slices of cheese. They were excellent. Now I’m back for the third time and it’s just as good a it was the first two times. I’ll tell you this, the display case won’t get you excited but the pizza is delicious despite the case.

Reminds me of New York Pizza, only better. But yes this is real nyc pizza. I can see the tears coming out my father’s eyes on how it brought him back to his Brooklyn childhood. They are very nice here.

Best New York pizza style in Chicago!!! I’m a big fan of New York style pizza, and “cafe Luigi ” is as close as you get to New York without visiting the airport.
