Traditional bar featuring Irish pub fare, beer, wine & live entertainment inside the Hilton Chicago.
It has been a few years since I have been able to visit Kitty O’Shea’s. It has been in my mind my favorite place to visit and my visit yesterday confirms it again. The atmosphere is quaint and engaging. The service was excellent and the food was great! The morning at the Chicago Art Institute and the afternoon at Kitty O’Shea’s! It doesn’t get any better than that!!! Loved the Guinness!!!
Great location and a good bar for a beer. THE PLACE: The bar has beautiful dark wood structures and plenty of seating areas. The ambience and live music (especially a flute player) are excellent. Bathrooms are tricky to find, but once there, all is clean. THE FOOD: Many many many many beer and drink options. Quite lovely to find a place with so many variations. On the night that I went, I ordered a pretzel and a beer. Beer was a expected (good and cold) and the pretzel was fresh, soft inside and perfectly crunchy on the outside. Came with two dips. THE SERVICE: My waiter was excellent, however, the restaurant seems understaffed and there was no one to greet or seat you upon arrival.
This reastaurant is located in the Hilton Chicago. I guess this is a seat yourself type of place. There is no host/hostess. It has a full bar with some signature cocktails. They are open until about midnight on weekdays. The bourbon bacon was to die for. I could eat that every day. It was so delicious. I got the wings as well. They were so-so. The wings were ok and the sauces that came with them were not that great. The service was also ok. It took a while to get my food, even though it was slow. There are TV around the bar where you can catch some sports or your favorite show. My experience there was ok. If I was in a bind and could not make it out of the hotel, then it would do. Otherwisee, I would venture out to one of Chicago’s many delicious dining establishments.
Service was excellent & the ambience is fun. Although they weren’t busy, the food was a bit slow coming out & it wasn’t ‘hot’. Flavors good and serving was plentiful; just felt like the food sat under the warming lamps for a bit.
What to say about Kitty O’Shea’s. Yes it expensive and usually crowded but it’s also a lot of fun. The Hilton on Michigan is our preferred downtown hotel. They have always been good to us, and its a great location. when we stay were at Kitty O’Shea’s at least one or two nights. They have a good beer menu and a good menu overall. I have never been disappointed in the beer of the food..I like the fig bead appetizer allot. Good burgers and Fish and Chips. If your staying at or near the hotel its perfect, as far as hotel restaurants go its top notch
Upon entering the restaurant, don’t plan to be seated by a hostess but a sign stating to seat yourself. Luckily, I was able to find a table right away. Kitty O’Shea’s definitely has an Irish pub feeling. Guests seemed like they were having a good time. Since I came in a little later in the evening, I was able grab a table. The restaurant was still quite steady. Kristy B, server, greeted me and take my drink order. Upon return, I had decided on the Fish & Chips for my entree. Within 10 minutes or so, the entree was delivered. The fish was nice and meaty and the fries were very well seasoned. Kristy did check in with me. Opted to skip dessert. Overall a good experience and food.
My husband and I stayed that the Hilton Chicago and came here for dinner. He ordered the salmon and I ordered the fish sandwich as well as the cinnamon margarita. His salmon was topped with maybe quinoa on top (?) had a side of potatoes, green beans and also a delicious cream on the salmon. Overall the dish was very well made and a great healthier meal to counter all the unhealthy food we ate this trip. My fish sandwich was so good! I was pleasantly surprised by the pickle that came with it. I ordered it with fries on the side and I loved the cut of the fries. It was a cut like a curly fry but cooked like a french fry. The cinnamon margarita was also amazing. Overall a slid location for dinner or a drink.
Let me start of by saying the potatoes are seasoned perfectly. They are so good. The bacon was really good too. This place is like most Irish pubs. It has lots of space and you can seat yourself when they aren’t busy. Their brunch menu is a little on the small side but there lunch’s and dinner menu are pretty nice.
We went down for a small bite to eat after arriving into Chicago late evening. The service was great and the small plates we got to share were really delicious. This pub is located within Hilton Chicago so we didn’t have to go outside and weather the cold evening.
Came here on a recent business trip and decided to try this place out. We sat at the bar which had a nice feel to it. It’s located in the Hilton, but I believe it can be accessed from the street as well. It’s a typical Irish bar, lots of cool pics and trinkets all over the place. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The menu isn’t very large. I had a hard time finding something that I wanted (I’m kind of a picky eater at times). I ordered the Mac & Cheese with beef and my co-worker ordered a steak. Overall, we were unimpressed with the portion sizes compared to how much everything cost. The steak he got was way smaller than expected and it was pretty pricey. He did say it tasted good though. The mac and cheese I got was just alright..nothing special. If I were to come back here again it would probably be just for a drink, I don’t think I’d eat here again.
