Barbecue restaurant
I had the fried shrimp, fries and fried okra. The shrimp batter was not what I expected. Its very underwhelming and misses the mark. The mild barbecue sauce is spicier than anticipated. Its more smoky than I’d like and just misses the bullseye. The okra was on point tho! I wish they would’ve included ranch with them but I prevailed! I may or may not be back…depends…
I don’t eat pork so I got the turkey tips and turkey links. The turkey tips were terrible, they were tender pieces of mystery meat. They didn’t taste like any tips I have had before – plus the order was over $16 dollars with tax and the portion was super small. Looked liked a lunch special. TERRIBLE TASTE. The bbq sauce was super runny and was also terrible. My friend had the rib tips and say they were awesome. Super tender and of great qualify. I will.l not go back. O the turkey links are pretty good (small the size of a hotdog or polish). All in all it’s a total no for me.
claimed 2 b 1 of Chicago’s Best or the best.. my belly’s not know of that.. so as part of our ribs taste test comparison, this came out the loser by unanimous decision of all our family of stomachs (burp) meaning stomach’s talking n agreeing although the ribs were long bones of ribs n flavor was smokey.. it wasn’t satisfying as it had no flavor complexion nor depth + ribs weren’t tender
Rip tips brunt ends we’re off the chain! And the service was excellent! It was definitely service with a smile! The cashier was patient and nicely answered all my questions! I had the sauce on the side. But the meat didn’t really need it. But the sauce was very good. So I just added it to the fries, even though they didn’t need it either! Good fast service. I will definitely be returning!
The food is really good BUT they did not plan well during COVID-19. People have to stand outside for more than 30 mins to order food. After the food is ordered, it takes another 45 mins to an hour to get the order. There are no phone orders, no UberEats. This is terrible. I won’t be ordering from here again.
I have been here twice and both the turkey and pork tips are delicious, but I prefer the turkey ones over the pork ones. Also tried the half chicken but it was a little dry for my taste, maybe they were just off today on the chicken, maybe I might try it again not sure.
Food is good excellent selections turkey is on the menu. But the wait is red icu louse and the May run out of meat. My people smh
I’m not a huge fan of BBQ but I will eat it occasionally. I have heard about this place since it was a grill at South Holland’s Farmer’s Market, but I never had any, until today. Generally sauce makes the meat in commercial bbq establishments. However, here the meat stands alone. The sauce was an unwanted distraction. I’m thankful they didn’t drown the meat in sauce and the bottom rib tips barely had any sauce. It was there that I realized the delicious seasoning on the meat. I would not get sauce here. The meat didn’t need it. Also, they were the meatiest tips I’ve ever had… like the whole order!!! I didn’t eat the chicken and I didn’t love the links and the fries were greasy. I would return for ribs. — at Kirks BBQ.
Jerk burnt ends were amazing I didn’t even have sauce on them sauce was on the side Coleslaw was delicious okra was good I didn’t care for the fried chicken wings
Good food will never negate a less than stellar service experience. It feels like bad service people leave one BBQ/Chicken join after they close and proceed to shut down another with the same horrendous service. I pray this doesn’t happen to Kirk’s but I may be seeing the end before my eyes… I Asked for a crispy fry on a XL combo and was told “NO! We don’t do crispy fries.” Okay… (Walked out)
