JJ Fish & Chicken

The fish is fresh and delicious and the fries to die for. I love JJ Fish. I also love their chicken. Their prices are reasonable and affordable.

We have been ordering from this J&J for years now especially for parties, they have the best chicken wing trays in chicago for the best price!! Today for the first time I went into another j&j just to find the chicken was terrible! ! The oil was so old and nasty tasting & smelling like dirty smelly nasty old fish from the sewers. We love fish, just not smelly fish. I shouldn’t have never cheated on you J&Js your the best.. unfortunately not all J&J are the same they didnt even put lemon seasoning on the chicken. #1J&JINCHICAGO

I love JJ’s. Coming from Atlanta, I was excited to find out that they had one near where I was staying. A guys who referred to himself as the owner (Billy) refused to serve me because my car declined. I told him my bank just texted me asking if I had made the purchase. I texted back yes- enabling the purchase to go through. Billy said “I’m suppose to keep the card” and I then got pissed and golf him he’s not keeping my card. I threatened to call the police, then he gave it back– smooth! I would definitely recommend another JJ’s.

I’m only giving 2 stars bcz the cashier was very pleasant. The owner should be stripped from owning a jj fish. I was in the area and decided to get my mom some catfish filets. They clearly cut the filets in half, probably thirds based on how thin the filets were. My mom was disappointed and I felt ripped off. If I’m ever in the area again I know not to come here. Who knows what else they do to get over! The owners should feel ashamed of themselves!

One star for service. I ordered chicken – you know the item that is in the name – along with other items. Guy says the chicken will take 20 min, I say okay. 20 min later I get the food. Walk to my car and see there’s no chicken. So I go back inside the guy says “yeah, I didn’t charge you for it because I didn’t put the order in” with a look his face of complete confusion to my anger. Made no sense. I had to wait 20 min for the other items, so why didn’t you put my order in for the chicken?. So then I had to go to the Popeyes next door and wait another 10 min. I may have to go the extra 20 min next time.

Their food is delicious! I would always soak my catfish in hot sauce and never knew how good the actual fish was. It is so good! Catfish nuggets, filets or perch. BOMB!

First off people….this is fast food not sit down white table cloth restaurant impress your Tinder date establishment. If you are after Westside Chicago fried foods served hot, that’s what you will get. Only thing…. check ur bag before you leave bc they left out our coleslaw and side of spaghetti. They also have lotsa desserts…cake, pudding and cookies. We ordered fried chicken, wow. Fried catfish and Italian beef sandwich, both decent.

Decent, customer service for the area. The quality of the food was awful. Im not a fan of this type of “restaurant” but came with a open mind. A family member used them to cater and it was a poor choice. The food is covered in a heavy amount of breading/batter to an extent you have no actual protein. I felt like it was done to mask the fact the proteins were such low quality. I’d suggest you go elsewhere, unless you’d like to eat fried batter 🙂

I used to come here often. But not anymore, owner reprimanded me for giving a dollar to a homeless man that I can tell really needed help. Made me feel like crap, i don’t care to give my business to anyone that doesn’t care for the neighborhood.

Awful food for an awful area. Just shut it down already. What’s even more gross is soggy fried chicken…
