Chinese dishes with a Sichuan & Hunan specialty served in a traditional space with colorful accents.
I have been eating at this place for years. The lunch menu has always been spot on. Great portions all around. I have brought a date here once and she loved it. The location is always clean, well kept. Friendly staff, always answers questions in regards to the menu. The lunch menu includes soup and egg rolls. Everything is very well served, if you don’t get the lunch menu but the full serving menu for dinner is also great. Very well prepared no matter what you order. I highly recommend stopping in here for a good dinner. Thank you for being in the neighborhood. Great location. Great service. Great food. You cant go wrong with this location. Thank you.
Great just had the sesame chicken was one of the best sesame chicken lunches I’ve ever had definitely will be back plus an eggroll and other sides come with!
What can I say, it’s the BEST dang potstickers anyone could ever have. Don’t miss out on these beauties. I’ve grown up with this restaurant (quite literally) and 25+ years later they are still workin’ it. Family-owned friendly faces that make you feel like home… I could never get sick of it. From homemade potstickers, to satay beef, to sesame chicken, to lobster… they’ve got it all. Would I come back? Yes! They’ve got a free small parking lot tooo.
One of the best Chinese food places in all of Chicago. Hong Huah is a family owned restaurant where Mr. Lo and his family work together to keep the place running. When you enter the restaurant, you are immediately greeted by Mr. Lo and he welcomes you into his restaurant, into his world of delicious cuisine that is mainly Chinese, but has influences from Taiwan as well. The best way to enjoy Hong Huah is to eat at the restaurant. They have dishes with extra flare that makes the experience quite special. A couple of my favorite dishes are the Fried Potstickers and Crab Rangoon. The Potstickers are so delicious and fried on the bottom to perfection and paired with a housemade dipping sauce. In addition, the Crab Rangoon comes with 6 pieces and a housemade sweet and sour sauce. I personally like to enjoy the Crab Rangoons by breaking apart each corner and dipping it sauce. Amazing. For entrees, their General Tso’s chicken is very popular along with their Lobster and Moo Shu dishes. When you order the Moo Shu’s, Mr. Lo comes around and transforms them into a burrito. How cool is that?! Side note, they also have an amazing Lunch Special so be sure to check them out for that midday break. Grade: A
Fantastic food and fantastic service. Go there and enjoy the tiny amount of time it takes then to present you with delicious dishes.
We ordered the pot stickers, shrimp fried rice, sesame chicken and everything was fresh and warm. I loved that they gave us two type of cookies. I definitely recommend this place.
This place is amazing! The decor etc inside is nice could use some updates, maybe employee uniforms and T-shirt’s but that’s not what your reading this for…you don’t care about the decor you came for the FOOD!! What Chinese place still makes homemade egg rolls and potstickers??!! This one! I mean it was so fresh. I was not expecting that at all. If I based the review on service alone it would have been three stars I would have liked a smile and maybe the person taking my order to at least have a family Compnay t shirt on instead of joggers….but don’t let that sway you!! Also the owner John was super nice and friendly. He even held the door for us on our way out and offered water etc. In the evening it’s a nice ambiance and low key date spot for drinks and dinner date (no sweat pants here). During the day def pick up to go or just come in and chill! The lunch special was so amazing! Not too much food like other places that may lack quality. This is by far the best Chinese food I have ever eaten. Period. Must try their veggie egg rolls and veggie fried rice. We also enjoyed the chicken and broccoli.
Didn’t want to cook on a Saturday night and wanted to support local during this virus lockdown. Saw people recommend this place on a community post and decided to try. So glad I did because the food I got was EXCELLENT!! Ordered Beef & Broccoli, Vegetable Lo Mein, Potstickers & Egg Drop Soup. All were delicious. Super friendly service. Will definitely be back to keep good community restaurants around.
5 stars just for their fried dumplings/potstickers. Best ever. I could eat them every day if I could. I also enjoy the satay beef, sesame chicken, and beef chow fun. But I think everything is generally good.
