Locally sourced breakfast, lunch & dinner are served in a modern space, plus vegan & kid’s menus.
Will not go back, they are charging a credit card fee, there are plenty of other restaurants around that don’t, beware on you bill.
It was a delightful respite after a beautiful day in the park. Friendly staff and great food
Wonderful, clean restaurant with a LARGE spectrum of options in a brand new complex. So impressed with the amount of vegetarian/ vegan options- they have an entire separate menu! Full tea menu also available. Will be back if I’m ever back in the Munster area!
The food was good and the waitstaff was fantastic but I was put off by the restaurant charging a credit card fee. Why don’t they include this expense when determining the charge for food rather than highlight this charge. Who pays cash anyway? On principle, I don’t return to a restaurant if there is a credit card fee. I would have otherwise given four stars.
Food was amazing! Owner was so helpful I love the fact everything was fresh and antibiotic free definitely will be back and a FYI make sure you have cash so you don’t have to pay the extra few dollars to use your card
Found this place on a search for a quick bite to eat and we enjoyed every moment I have had the opportunity to visit the location in i Indiana for breakfast and loooove it visited city location for dinner with friends both locations great good service good food !
Love loved this place. I was visiting a friend in Munster and she brought me here. I just loved the ambiance and of course, the food was great. On a Thursday, with kids in school, this place was really crowded! I’m not gluten free, but they had lots of options. I loved the sweet potato hash and my dish was very unique, the Marco Polo skillet with sweet potato was great. It was a little oily, but no biggie. My only complaint, and this is probably personal, was their jam. They had the apple peach jam. The consistency was like baby food and they didn’t have any other option. I love my toast and jam, but this wasn’t that great. But overall, it was great. I was excited to hear there’s one in Illinois, closer to where I live.
Harvest Room has been open for some time and it’s consistency is amazing. Other restaurants really could learn something from them. I’ve had the French toast, omelette, crispy hash browns, amazing cinnamon rolls & Benedict’s. Do your self a favor and try different things on the menu bc they will not disappoint
It’s easy to get seduced by the hipster vibe and the modern-old timey feel of the place. But I looked at the grimy floor, the scuffed walls, and the dirty, chipped plates in front of me, and the glamour glasses fell from my face. “Will the food and service be redeeming?” I wondered. The service was excellent. A prompt and attentive waiter took good care of us. The food was …. Interesting. Let’s just say that Scotch eggs do not go well with pesto or mustard. And the sausage gravy over the biscuits had so much sage in it that it was green. I can’t say that I loved the flavor, but it was unique. The pancakes and French toast, however, were delicious.
The Harvest Room is a nice spot for a special occasion breakfast. The food was good, but I’d say less is more sometimes. There were a lot of sauces, toppings, garnishes, etc. that made the plate a bit busy and the entrée unnecessarily complex. I’d also love for the chicken that came with the chicken and waffle to have more seasoning and flavor. Special shout out for the smoked brisket hash. It was incredibly delicious, and I highly recommend you try it. Overall, it was a little more pricey than I’d want to pay for breakfast, but I’d come to Harvest Room again in the future even though I probably won’t be the most frequent customer.
