Known for deep-dish pizza, this casual chain serves other classic Italian food, plus beer & wine.
Deep dish pizzas take about 45 mins so come ready to wait! When we got here it was pretty empty. We started off with a salad and fried calamari. The salad was good but I would have liked it with the pizza since the pizza is pretty heavy and greasy. For it taking so long, I would have expected the cheese on the pizza to be completely melted and oozing but when we got it, the cheese was a bit solidified. I wish I had a microwave to nuke it in for a bit. Also, the tab water is absolutely disgusting. I don’t think I’ve ever tasted water so bad in my life.
To be fair, I’ve never had a true Chicago-style deep dish pizza before this one today so I don’t have much to compare it to. But I loved it. We got a plain cheese deep dish. Fantastic for the style. The crust is almost flaky, almost like a pie crust. The cheese is great, and there’s a lot of it, which I also think is great. Great flavor to the sauce. It’s during coronavirus so the inside dining wasn’t open but the outside patio was and we had excellent service.
Well, to start of, everything was normal, no issues even though my husband had one of those weird feelings we would have terrible service. Well, that all went to shyt towards the end of our meal. I asked our waitress “Kim” for a round container for the leftover pizza instead of a box, her reply, “it won’t fit in your fridge”…….my reaction:HUH anywhere, she then pushes a different togo container towards me as if to tell me to box my other leftovers while she went to get the one for my pizza. She brings it, and POOF…GONE…NEVER COMES BACK! At this point we’ve already paid the bill. We expected her to box our food as she did EVERYONE elses…NO MA’AM, NO HAM, NO CHEESE SO…we sit for about 10+ minutes to give her an opportunity to correct to bad service…..nope….looked pissed us as if we were invisible. I notified the manager, but I have a feeling he didn’t do anything because he pushed it off to quickly. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, and we had to ask.for our table to be cleaned and a clean pizza holder since the holder given to us was dirty…like nasty/used with old pizza remnants…..I CANNOT MAKE THIS UP. Please don’t waste your time here, they need to do some SERIOUS retraining ASAP
I traveled to Chicago last month for a quick weekend getaway. I basically flew there just to eat and travel safely due to covid. It was my first time trying deep dish pizza and it did not disappoint. We had gone to other deep dish pizza spots that same weekend but this was my favorite by far. The crust alone was delicious and the toppings. Can’t wait to go back
CALLING ALL PIZZA LOVERS? Have you had a deep dish pizza? I can finally say that I have had the famous Chicago Giordano’s Deep dish pizza! Why y’all didn’t tell me it was sooo big. Some of the best deep dish pizza in the whole city. Great flaky, crunch crust, TONS of cheese and the toppings are generous and always fresh. They also have great salads and sides. Just go!!!!
Restaurant empty sat outside. Nice seating. However waited 45 min for 1 pizza no appetizers just my husnand and i…and we are still waiting. Don’t recommend this place unless you have an hour maybe more to wait for iur food
Deep dish pizza is a must-try coming to Chicago. A friend recommended trying Giordano’s. As we sat down, we ordered the special choice which had sausage, onions, mushrooms, and green peppers. A small size was a good portion for 3 people. After ordering, the waitress said the wait would be 45min or so. That’s probably the longest wait for a pizza I’ve seen but understandable since this is not your average pizza. The pizza then came out, looking humongous on a nice serving plate. Normally, I don’t eat my pizza with a knife and fork but this time, it would be difficult to not to. Each slice was thick and everything would pretty much fall apart if I used my hands. It was quite an experience, very delish and leaves you pretty stuffed after two slices.
Great place and situated off Michigan Ave was nice. It was busy but the food came out fairly quickly and the pizza was great. Note, it’s a heavy meal so plan accordingly.
Best service ever!! Luis was so welcoming and made our experience so great! All the food was delicious and served on a timely manner. They are doing a great job at managing covid regulations by spreading tables out and only seating a certain amount of people at a time.
