Restaurant
One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in the Chicagoland area. Great service, amazing variety, good ambiance, and the I’ve been here 5 times already and every time the food has been amazing. The Wild Mushroom Saccheti is unreal. Best pasta dish I’ve ever had.
My one complaint is the outdoor seating – the chairs are a bit too low; they were a little uncomfortable. But the food was good – expensive but very good. Our group had mushroom pizza, BBQ chicken pizza, Parmesan chicken, lemon salmon, salmon salad, and chicken salad. The salads altère decent, but the pizzas and “bigger plates” are the things to get. DELICIOUS sauce on my plate – the salmon with lemon sauce! 10/10 recommend.
Excellent food. Service was very nice as well. We tried a combination of veggie pizzas and they were all good. The mojito could be stronger. Loved their calamari and mushrooms pasta. Overall a great experience with friends. Highly recommended this place but make reservations as the place gets crowded.
Would you sit outside for an hour on a windy evening in super chilly temperatures to enjoy the offerings of Gia Mia? We would and we did. The food is just that good. Do yourself a favor and order the zucchini fries to start. I like them more than potato based fries because they’re explosively flavorful, and that dipping sauce? My mouth is watering as I write this and remember… I can also assure you that the caramelized onion and roasted pear wood fired pizza and the wild mushroom sacchetti could not be any more delicious. They have reached the peak on the mountain of pleasing flavors. My kids were also really happy with the bbq chicken pizza. I’ll visit Gia Mia in rain, sleet, or snow, but I’ll be even happier to return to their outdoor seating on a gorgeous summer day soon!
Recommended by a shop keeper from a store we’d stopped into. It did not disappoint. Shrimp Rissoto and rigatoni in vodka sauce were spicy and plentiful. We’ll be back with friends
Great food–we happened to come on Mondays when pizzas are half off so the whole party had some, and both the pizzas and the salads that accompanied them were very good. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, and eating outside went very well. Definitely one we’ll return to again.
I met a friend here last week during the week and we were glad we came! We sat outside for a few apps, wine, and dessert. It was a nice day but the wind was rough so they had the heaters on. Ours kept turning on and off but it eventually stayed on by the end of our visit. The patio space is small but is works if you get their earlier and the heaters really do heat up the space nicely! The indoor space is also gorgeous. They have a pretty good selection of wine. We got a bottle of Pinot Noir to split and it was reasonably priced. To eat, we started with the meatball app and the smashed potatoes. The meatballs were cooked perfectly and I really liked the flavor of the roasted tomato sauce. Plus the creamy polenta underneath was a game changer. The smashed potatoes were cooked well too with the crunchy skins and those fresno chilis were such a great flavor addition! For dessert, we got the lemon sorbetto and it was incredible. They have other local flavors but the lemon one was hard to beat. It was SO refreshing and served beautifully inside a full lemon and glass cup. One thing that our server could work on was taking our plates away without asking. We did politely stop her both times as she was grabbing the plates but in general, asking before clearing the table would have been so appreciated. Overall, we had a great time here. I’ll definitely be back to try out the other menu items!
I heard that they have excellent pizza. Well, pizza is my favorite so we stopped in here for dinner. The place was hopping with activity which was nice to see considering what we’ve all been through pandemic-wise. Here’s what we ordered. Beet + Farro salad New Haven clam pizza Pepperoni + Banana pepper pizza Pear + Gorgonzola pizza All pizzas are Neapolitan style All were excellent. Crust was great. I was impressed with each one. Beet salad was also top notch. Beets, Spinach, Farro, goat cheese, perfectly balanced. Can’t wait to go back and try other menu items. Cheers to all
It seems we might have dined here (outdoor seating area) on an off night. The pizza was anything but spectacular despite this place having a really new brick oven in the dining area. And before you ask, it was four of us and we each ordered something different, one of which was gluten free crust. Of the four, the gluten free was the better selection in that it was the only pizza delivered to us that wasn’t doughy/soggy. Our most memorable experience was the outdoor seating, nice bottle of red and great company. Wonderful atmosphere and service from the moment I walked in to when I walked out. Food, really spectacular flavors, perfect sized portions, and beautiful presentations. We ordered a the Quatro Formaggio pizza, and two plates, shrimp with eggplant and calamari fritto. Shrimp was spicy but nothing overpowering. Eggplant grilled to perfection! A wonderful five star lunch experience!
