Geja’s Cafe

I celebrated my birthday here yesterday and it was an outstanding experience all around!! The food and service were both excellent. We sat outside at the patio, but were very comfortable with the fire places. I highly recommend this restaurant for celebrating any special occasion!

To be clear, I haven’t eaten a whole meal here, but I intend to come back and give it a shot. My wife and I stopped in for some wine and a cheese board after a meal nearby. They have a very extensive wine list to choose from, the cheese plate was solid, but what I was most impressed with was the outdoor patio situation. We were back in this little outdoor nook that they call “the cave” which is one of three outdoor fireplaces with seating all around. It was in the 50s, and the fire made for a perfect temperature to have drinks and snacks outside. Not sure if I’d want to eat fondue out there on a cold evening, but the inside is beautiful as well. We’ll be back!

Unbuckle your belt one notch because Geja’s knows how to fondue. It’s a whole experience and perfect for anniversaries or birthdays. Forget counting calories, you dont want to know! When I say this place is perfect for special occasions, I mean it because I would never come here on a regular basis. It takes time, money, and a palette. But boy, are you in for a treat. Voted Chicago’s Most Romantic Fondue Restaurant. I believe it. Dim lighting, intimate vibes, and a well groomed staff. The art of dipping. The meal is brought out in courses. COME HUNGRY because the food will seem endless. I chose Prince Geja’s Combination dinner ($70). It came with fruit, chocolates, vegetables, beef tenderloin, lobster tail, gulf shrimp, sea scallops, and chicken. Everything had the option of being dipped in sauces, ranging from garlic, butter, oil, chocolate, barbecue, vinaigrette. There were eight gourmet dipping sauces. A LOT OF CHOICES for your taste buds! This experience dinner reminded me of hot pot. It’s interactive, and is the PERFECT SPOT for dates. We also got a bottle of wine, and were gooood to go (because wine not?) So very fond of this fondue place! (Also, I think there is a no cell phone rule so pictures were not an option. Sorry!)

Curbside pickup service was excellent last night. We have a fondue pot at home so the experience ended up being very similar to at the restaurant. The fondue was perfect and stayed heated, and the gourmet board and salads were also very good.

No one lied when they said this is the best date night spot in Chicago. What an experience! And not like the one at Melting Pot. This is fun an interactive and surprisingly filling. Our personal favorite was the cheese fondue. Our waiter was so kind and brought us an extra one for free so we could dip our meats and it. THE BEST! I also like how quickly the meats and even potatoes cook. The waiters are very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to cooking times. Second best part – chocolate fondue! They light it on fire when they bring it to your table so you can roast marshmallows. We absolutely loved it! Lastly, I like that you can buy a variety plate so you don’t have to stick to one meat. If you sign up for their mailing list, you can get deals that are next to nothing. Great bang for your buck!

My wife and I have been coming to Geja’s Cafe for the past 5 years to celebrate our birthdays and anniversaries. The food and service is unlike any other restaurant in the city. It is by far the most romantic restaurant in Chicago. This year we did not make any exceptions, despite everything going on in thew world. We ordered from Geja’s special carry out menu to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We were able to bring our favorite restaurant home! We can’t wait to celebrate many more special occasions with Geja’s and it’s staff. Thank you!!

I love the ambience here. It’s very romantic. I’m sure plenty of people get engaged here. It’s unique! I was little confused my first time, but I enjoyed it so I’ve been back plenty. It’s really nice. I don’t want to ruin it for you so go experience it for yourself.

Most romantic restaurant in Chicago does not disappoint! Even during Covid this place is fabulous. Very socially distanced. Lovely waitstaff we ate indoors for the first time and were very comfortable!! New offerings of peppers and broccoli during the cheese course was a nice carb update! Rice Krispies and chocolate? How can you say no??? Time to take the love of your life out and fall in love again!!

Loved this place! My husband took me out here for my birthday and I absolutely loved it! If you’re looking for an elegant, romantic dinner experience with yummy wine I would definitely suggest Gejas cafe. It was my first time trying fondue and it was so fun! Starting with the appetizers, down to dessert. So yum and a fun experience! I loved that with fondue you prolong your dinner experience because you’re cooking a few pieces of meat or veggie at a time. I tend to rush through me food and then I’m stuffed but with fondue you take your time and you end up eating just enough. The atmosphere was perfect for the romantic dinner that we were looking for. You were seated in a booth that was semi private, which was super nice, and the customer service was very elegant and helpful. The lights are dimmed and they had live music with a guitarist playing music. Something between Spanish and Italian. They also have the cafes story written on the back of each menu which was super fun to read. I absolutely loved my experience at Gejas. Love these old places that have been around for so long. They’ve got the experience and know what they’re doing. Highly recommend.

Came here for the cheese and chocolate deal on April 11th and I was disappointed from the get go. I had a reservation at 8:45pm and one guest from my party showed up at 9 due to the poor traffic conditions. As a result I was approached by the manager at around 8:55 asking for me to give up our table if she did not arrive in the next couple minutes. This restaurant closes at 10pm so there were no more other guests arriving around 9. Anyway we sit down after the manager loudly exclaims “she’s FINALLY here” as soon as she arrives causing her embarrassment. The cheese fondue part of the deal came with a selection of bread, grapes, and apples. We had to try multiple times to get the attention of the waitress to bring us more cheese when it was out. The chocolate fondue came with an assortment of fruit and cake, it was tasty but again the service was subpar. For how much we paid even for the deal, I did not think it was worth the cheese and chocolate fondue deal 25/person, usually 40/person
