Restaurant
We got our meal to go had it not been a pandemic I would’ve eaten in. We were the only patrons inside with our mask on. I was ok with that for me it’s safety over what’s popular. The restaurant bar was clean and most of the furniture was wood not a lot of material which was great. The workers customer service skills was top notch, we were waited on right away, the menu items were explained and suggestions was shared. We ordered the Tender plate which consist of 3 medium sized tenders, a pouch full of fries and a cup of Cole slaw. The tenders are cooked in your choice of heat level from country no heat to lil insanity RIP and 4 in between. I don’t like spice so country was perfect for me. My spouse ordered hot and she enjoys heat. She told me the next time we go she’s dropping her heat level to medium. . The tenders had a nice fry to them and the fries were fresh cut. Now let’s talk about the Cole slaw, I enjoy salads this slaw was in need of flavor but I think since most people who eat here will indulge in spice the slaw will be a cool welcomed party in their mouth. We are definitely returning, the customer service just blew me away. The cashier was great!!!
Glad to have this location in the city that’s open for dinner. All the locations I’ve been to have consistently great food. The heat level can vary though. This location sometimes has live music in the evenings!
The hot is very hot. Not dipped. Dry with seasoning. Very good. Fries are excellent and the bar/dining area is really cool
So glad I finally ordered delivery from these guys! After running out of options due to other restaurants being closed or menu items being completely gone, I remembered Fry the Coop. Ordered the chicken tenders, which are pretty substantial, and opted for mild, which is just the right amount of spice! Also got the seasoned fries which are lightly seasoned, so not overly salty. The cole slaw is a bit on the bland side and could use some jazzing up. Also, and I think this is a Chicago thing, there’s no need to include a slice of bread. I even included that in my special instructions and it was on the ticket. No worries, but I hate wasting food. Overall though, fantastic I will definitely order from them again in the future!
A solid spot for your go-to fried chicken sandwich. The Nashville Fried Chicken Sandwich was the best off the menu – and you can adjust the spice level to your liking with *descriptions* of the level of heat which is very helpful. For a more mild option, I’d recommend the Spicy Butter Fried Chicken Sandwich. It is sweeter and less savory, but still great.
Going to Fry The Coop, felt like I caught a flight directly to Nashville! The menu is pretty simple which I loved! I landed on the ‘Chicken and Cheese’ sandwich and ‘Cooped It Up’ by adding house fries. The sandwich was simply perfection! The bun was toasted and warmed, the chicken was the perfect size and JUICY. I ordered my sandwich ‘medium’ temperature/spice level and it had a light kick and tons of great flavor. The seasoned breading gave it a nice crunch which may have been my favorite part aside from the savory ‘special sauce.’ I loved their seasoned fries too. Overall, this was a very quality chicken sandwich. It was tasty, it was decently priced, and I was seriously stuffed after eating! The service at the restaurant wasn’t the best, but the yummy food absolutely made up for it! Give it a try, go get you some! You will not be disappointed, promise!
Quick, window-service (currently) restaurant that offers several variations of fried chicken. I went for the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich, which was a very good paired with their Coop Sauce. There was plenty of meat in between, as well. This would definitely be up there in terms of top chicken sandwiches around. Their seasoned fries were great from a flavor perspective but cooked a bit much decreasing the overall enjoyment as they were a bit blackened. Not exactly what I was looking for or what worked best in this case. All in all, a great stop if you need a high quality chicken sandwich and/or a little bit of spice!
I have been meaning to try Fry the Coop for over a year but, with COVID it had just slipped my mind. After seeing a viral Tiktok video I was reminded that I needed to try it asap! The service was pretty good, you order at a counter and then your food is brought out to you. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken (no coleslaw), medium temperature, with a side of mac and cheese. I thought the sandwich was a little bit on the small side but, the chicken was seasoned well and very juicy, I also really liked the thousand island sauce that came on it. The mac and cheese was ok, I will probably opt for seasoned fries the next time but it wasn’t bad. Surprisingly, they have a bar on the inside of the restaurant. I think the next time I eat here I will come later in the day and have a few drinks while I eat!
Hey guys. The person taking the order on the phone repeatedly couldn’t hear us because the music in the background of the restaurant was a loud-ass trap concert basically. It took several minutes of repeated sentences to get our order down. When we arrived, the order was completely wrong. I feel bad for the girl taking our order. How about you guys talk to your managers about LOWERING the volume of your music to a normal level so that you can function as a business. Once again, the girl was very polite on the phone and this wasn’t her fault. EDIT: Ugh I originally wanted to give low stars but the food is so damn good and the staff was very nice and apologetic. Will come again.
Fry the Coop is way better than Budlong!! The 3 piece tender meal is an excellent deal that includes slaw, fries, and two sauces for under $12. The chicken was perfectly breaded and moist. I will be back!
